Moto Giro in Bathurst

Each year Australian Scooterists participate in the Motoretta Giro Internazionale. What is this Moto Giro you ask? Started in Italy, this is now an annual international event when groups of classic motorbikes and scooters get together worldwide for a ride of a different nature. It’s a regularity trial, not a race. Basically the objective is to ride three timed laps non-stop around a designated circuit and whoever does each lap in the most consistent time, wins. It’s harder than you think!

While on a family trip in the UK in July 2012, hubby and I decided at short notice to take a brief side trip without the children to Milan, Italy. It was the first time we’d done a trip without the kids (then aged 8 and 4), so we felt a little guilty. We need not have worried, it was only for 3 nights – the children stayed with their grandparents and cousins in England and had a fantastic time. Australian Lambretta Jamboree (March 2017)

The 2017 Australian Lambretta Jamboree was held over a long weekend in March at the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, some 997 km away from our home in Sydney. Never being one to let a long distance deter him, Steve rode down to Victoria on his Lambretta, while I chose to drive down in the car with our children and luggage.
